Women Economic Empowerment

Women Economic Empowerment

In this program, YFC provides targeted Vocational skills and supports vulnerable girls and vulnerable married girls to start and manage Income Generating Activities at a village level. We identify and select the most vulnerable married girls and unmarried girls and train them and support them to start sustainable Income Generating Activities to improve their livelihoods. Vocational skills provided include; shoe making, hair dressing, tailoring, computer skills, motor vehicle mechanics, and smart agriculture, baking and weaving. We also provide tools and start-up/seed capital to facilitate girls and vulnerable young women to start income generating activities.

YFC believe that empowering vulnerable girls and young women economically enhances their social standing in the family and community thus reducing chances of exploitation. Vocational skills increase the girl’s chances of being employed or starting a self-help project.
