For All women
to enhance theri socail-ecoomic lives
Violence against young women and girls is a grave violation of human rights. Its impact ranges from immediate to long-term multiple physical, sexual and mental consequences for women and girls, including death. It negatively affects women’s general well-being and prevents women from fully participating in society.
We work to enable opportunities for the discriminated, poor and vulnerable young women and girls to engage in processes to change their lives and their circumstances. Furthermore, we seek to address both the symptoms and the causes of injustices, and imbalances through projects that produce tangible, lasting changes hoping to strengthen individuals and communities in their efforts to address their own development priorities into the future.

What People Say ?
I have no kind words for YFC, your support to me and other girls during COVID-19 real helped us start shoe and bag making project. Some of my friends had thought of getting married because of economic stress that we have always gone through and which became worse during COVID-19 crisis. With your start-up finances we managed to get the training, buy materials and equipment, we now make ladies shoes and hand bags which have got market and we are making money which we save and use for other needs. We want to expand our business to become the leading shoe and hand bag making company in Mbarara city.
I thank YFC and Girl First Fund for identifying me as a champion and training me in girl leadership. Before I got involved in YFC programs I had lost trust in my parents who treated me unequal to my brothers, and developed the urge to get married at 15 years. This came when i had to sit at home for a year to let my 2 brothers one to complete his final year at the vocational school and another complete his senior 6. When I enrolled as a champion my self-esteem increased, I set my goals, developed confidence and became patient until I got back to school and am now progressing.
Me and my group in Nyantungu village are grateful for YFC for training us in smart agriculture and providing seeds and hoe to start G-nuts farming. Before YFC’s support most of us we didn’t have income of our own and husbands emotionally and economically abused us. We have now harvested 10 bags of G-nuts in one session and made 4,000,000 Uganda shillings ($1100). We can now afford to buy ourselves essential goods and feed our babies without begging our parents and husbands. We are continuing with our G-nuts project expecting to expand and start adding value in future. Thank you YFC .
